Grief & Loss Consultant

Hello, I'm Jane
Helping workplaces and schools become grief aware, confident and compassionate
I’m Jane Dixon. A widow, a mum, a speaker, and a grief and loss consultant.
This isn’t just my work. It’s my life.
When I lost my husband, I had to navigate grief while raising two daughters and working. I quickly learned that most places simply aren’t prepared for how grief truly affects people.
So I made it my mission to change that.
Through lived experience, specialist training, and listening to hundreds of stories, I now help workplaces and schools understand what grief looks like and how to support it better.

Why Choose Me?
Because I’ve lived it
Because I’ve learnt it
Because I’ve listened
I understand how grief can affect performance, confidence, and connection, and I know what workplaces and schools can do to make a real difference.
When you work with me, you get someone who brings warmth, strength, and practical tools to the conversation, all rooted in real experience.

Bereavement Ambassadors
Every organisation should have at least one
Ambassadors are a vital part of creating long-term culture change in your organisation.
Bereavement Ambassadors are trained staff who become your go-to support person for those navigating grief.
They receive:
- Training in listening, language, and emotional first aid
- Confidence to support others and signpost effectively
- A strong understanding of grief in the workplace or school setting
- Ongoing support from me for 12 months
- Guidance around how to use and promote your Bereavement Policy
Bereavement Policy Support
Is your policy working for your people?
Policy review and development is available on request (pricing on enquiry)
Many organisations don’t have a Bereavement Policy or have one that isn’t fit for purpose.
I offer:
- Support reviewing or creating your policy
- Advice on inclusive, empathetic language
- Practical guidance for line managers and HR
- Suggestions aligned with the UK Bereavement Commission’s 8 Principles of Change

Why this matters
People remember how they were treated during grief
Compassionate employers see:
- Faster returns to work
- Better attendance and retention
- Higher team morale and trust
- Stronger reputations
